 Joint Director of Agriculture Department caught by Vigilance while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh

Koshi Zone, Patna, Shri Vibhu Vidyarthi, Joint Director (Cultivation), Patna Division, Patna and Shri Satyanarayan Kumar, Head Clerk, District Agriculture Officer Office, Bhojpur, deputed District Agriculture Officer Office, Patna arrested red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh.

Today on 25.07.2024, in Vigilance Police Station Case No.-07/2024 dated 25.07.2024, Shri Vibhu Vidyarthi, Joint Director (Cultivation), Patna Division, Patna and Shri Satyanarayan Kumar, Head Clerk, District Agriculture Officer Office, Bhojpur, deputed District Agriculture Officer Office, Patna have been arrested red handed from 2nd Floor Room No. 303 of Divisional Agriculture Office, Patna, Krishi Bhawan Bihar, located in front of Jakkanpur Police Station, while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh.  Complainant Shri Neeraj Kumar, father late Jagdish Sao, near village Ranipur Sangat, police station- Mehandiganj, district Patna had lodged a complaint on 15.07.24 in the Vigilance Investigation Bureau that the accused Shri Vibhu Vidyarthi, District Agriculture Officer, Patna and Shri Satyanarayan Ji alias Neta Ji, Clerk, District Agriculture Officer Office, Mithapur, Patna are demanding a bribe of Rs. 10 lakhs respectively to acquit them on the clarification sought earlier.

The Bureau got the verification done and during the verification, evidence was found of the accused Shri Vibhu Vidyarthi demanding a bribe of Rs. 3,00,000/- (three lakhs) and Shri Satyanarayan Kumar demanding a bribe of Rs. 25,000/- (twenty five thousand).  After the allegations were found to be true, the above case was registered and a team was formed under the leadership of investigator Shri Pawan Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police. Taking action, the accused Shri Vibhu Vidyarthi, Joint Director (Personnel), Patna Division and Shri Satyanarayan Kumar, Head Clerk were arrested red handed from the 2nd Floor Room No. 303 of the Divisional Agriculture Office, Patna, located in Krishi Bhawan Bihar, opposite Jakkanpur Police Station, while taking a bribe of Rs. 3,00,000/- (three lakhs). After interrogation, the accused will be presented in the Honorable Court, Vigilance, Patna.
