Married woman accuses in-laws of harassing her
Koshi Zone, Saharsa. A case of harassment of a married woman for dowry by her in-laws has come to light from Sahuria village of Banma police station area. Regarding the matter, the victim has given a written application to the police station and demanded to register an FIR against her husband and in-laws. In the application, Saadja Khatoon, daughter of Sahuria village resident Mohammad Kamal Uddin, has said that my parents and brother got me married a year ago to Basar Khan of the same village by giving appropriate gifts according to Muslim customs. Ever since I came to my in-laws' house, my husband Bashar Khan, mother-in-law Afsari Khatoon, father-in-law Gaffar Khan, sister-in-law Roshni Khatoon, brother-in-law Zafar Khan etc. constantly harass me for bringing dowry. Banma police station in-charge Jyotish Kumar said that the application has been received and further action will be taken after investigation.
