Koshi zone, Saharsa. Food and Consumer Protection Department Issuing important information for Aadhaar seeding for ration card holders, it was said that under the National Food Security Act, 2013, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Department of Food and Public Distribution, Government of India's notification number- SO 2236 (E), dated- 11 June 2024, seeding of Aadhaar number was made mandatory for each member mentioned in the ration card of Targeted Public Distribution System till date- 30 September 2024. Again, by the Government of India's notification number- SO 3959 (E), dated- 17 September 2024, the period for mandatory seeding of Aadhaar number for each member mentioned in the ration card has been extended till date- 31 December 2024. The department has requested all ration card holders to get the Aadhaar seeding of each member mentioned in their ration card done compulsorily by 31 December 2024. For this, every member can get free Aadhaar seeding done through e-POS machine maintained at any targeted public distribution system vendor shop. The department has clearly stated through letters that if the Aadhaar seeding of any member mentioned in a ration card is not done by 31 December 2024, then action will be taken to delete the names of all such members from the ration card with effect from 01 January 2025 and the benefit of food grains against such members will not be given to the beneficiary family. Under the leadership of the District Magistrate, the public distribution shops are being inspected continuously by the Sadar SDO and Simri Bakhtiyarpur SDO regarding Aadhaar seeding and action is also being taken against the public distribution system vendors who are not interested in the said work.
Explanation sought from dealers regarding e-KYC case
The Sadar SDO has sought clarification from dealers of several blocks who are not interested in Aadhaar seeding. Among the PDS vendors who were asked for clarification are Shyam Sharan Gupta, Kanchan Devi, Mahadev Prasad Gupta, Hareram Paswan, Rameshwar Ram, PACS Bakunia, Ashraf Ali, Ammanullah Khan, Rahul Kumar, PACS Shahpur, Lakshmi Kumari of Navhatta. While the PACS of Sattarkataiya block are Purikh Robin Kumar, Chandra Kishore Paswan Okahi, Ramesh Yadav. Similarly, action is being taken against those who are not interested in e-KYC in various blocks, but the beneficiaries should also get their e-KYC done soon, otherwise the beneficiaries who do not get e-KYC done after 01 January 2025 will not get food grains at the PDS shop.
Percentage of e-KYC in the district
According to the data received in the ten blocks of the district, 25.71 percent e-KYC Aadhaar seeding work is pending in Kahra, 28.95 in Mahisi, 28.92 in Navhatta, 26.98 in Patarghat, 28.85 in Sattarkataiya, 26.15 in Saurbazar, 27.74 in Sonvarsha, 27.44 in Banma Ithari, 31.28 in Salkhua and 29.55 percent in Simri Bakhtiyarpur. Whereas now only 13 days are left for Aadhaar seeding. If the beneficiary's e-KYC is not completed in these 13 days, then the beneficiary will be deprived of getting food grains. Sadar SDO told that the beneficiary should get his 100 percent e-KYC done at the public distribution shop, otherwise the beneficiary will be deprived of getting food grains from next year.
