Young generations are increasingly interested in live-in relationships - High Court
Koshi zone. Saharsa। The Allahabad High Court has said in an order that it is a time of change in society. Changes are being seen everywhere in the moral values and behavior of the youth. Although live-in relationships have not received the approval of the society, yet the youth are getting attracted to such relationships, so that they can easily get rid of their responsibility towards their partner. This trend is increasing rapidly. The court said that now the time has come when we have to think about preparing a framework and finding a solution, so that the moral values of the society can be saved. Justice Nalin Kumar Srivastava made this comment while approving the appeal filed against the cancellation of bail of the accused of assault and rape after the long-term relationship soured. The court said that both are adults, maintained the relationship with consent for six years and filed a criminal case on disagreement. The victim is a Dalit and has lodged an FIR against the appellant in Sarnath police station of Varanasi on charges of rape, assault and abuse. The special court of Varanasi rejected the bail plea, which was challenged in the High Court in an appeal. The petitioner said that he has been falsely implicated. Both of them have had a long-term consensual relationship. The victim says that she was forced to have an abortion and the accused reneged on the promise of marriage. The court considered the order of the special court rejecting the bail plea as illegal and cancelled it and said that the petitioner is entitled to get bail. Also, the appeal was accepted and bail was granted with conditions.
